Glass Window Options: Single Pane, Double Pane, Impact Glass & More
We offer several types of premium glass for your windows. The options include the number of panes, glass coatings, energy efficiency, UV exposure and Argon gas enhanced. Depending on the location of the window you are replacing, we can help guide you to the glass type that best suits your needs.
Single Pane
This basic glass is standard and usually recommended for non-heated outdoor buildings.
Dual Pane
Dual Pane glass is an industry standard with a spacer between glass to create IGU (insulated gas units) also commonly known as double glazing. This dual pane creates a vacuum between the two panes of glass for insulation purposes.
Triple Pane
Triple Pane adds one more pane of glass for superior insulation and IGU. Great for energy efficiency.
Low-E Window Coating
Low E (emissivity) glass coating adds two microscopic layers of metal that is almost invisible to the eye.The coating protects your home (furniture carpet etc.) from fading that is caused by the damaging UV rays the sun produces. It can also protect eyes from UV rays. This is a great option for the sun-facing side of your home. **Low E3 is an option to add another layer of the microscopic metal coating to your glass. This is energy star rated and allows much more light in than tinted windows would.
Laminated Glass
Laminated glass is a type of safety glass that also provides noise reduction. This window glass types offers two layers and a bonded PVB (polyvinyl butyral) interlayer. If broken, the glass will stick rather than shatter. Laminated glass also offers 99% UV protection and 50% outside noise blockage.
Impact Glass
Impact glass windows are sometimes referred to as hurricane windows. The window consists of two panes of glass with a layer of PVB between, providing extreme weather protection for your home, Protecting your family from possible flying objects in a storm. This glass is extremely strong and also boasts all the cost saving, energy efficiency benefits.
Obscure Glass
If privacy is a need, we offer beautiful obscure glass options. This glass offers privacy and light diffusion, so is perfect for first floor bathrooms and front doors. They also make beautiful decorative windows anywhere and offer light diffusion in any room. Rain glass is an option of obscure glass that has a beautiful rain pattern pressed in the glass.
Spacer Systems
Warm-edge spacer systems create a moisture barrier to reduce fogging, and help to keep outside air out. This is a great way to save even more on future utility costs.
